About Corey

👋 Hello!

I'm Corey Gwin. I turn ideas 💡 into reality 🌎. I began life aiming to be an animator for Disney 🎞, somehow became an aerospace engineer 🚁 and later took a leap into the startup world 🚀. I got a degree in mechanical engineering ⚙️, studied human-computer interaction 🧠 for a bit, and now I'm a ✌️product guy✌️ building Internet things 👾 that aim to make us more capable 💪 and our lives more enjoyable ✨. I've had a blast developing all sorts of software products 👨‍💻 for over ten years from the ground up 📈. Have experience helping grow an early-stage startup 🌱 into a profitable company 🎢. I now consult on product strategy, design and development for companies around the world 👨‍🚀.

Who you are: Someone with technical ingenuity, passion for people and a strong product intuition with good taste.

Why I need you: To help lead and evolve our product into the lives of millions of people, adding value to their lives and growing our company's potential.

Who I am: I currently do product consulting and work on growing the business of my writing tool called Blurt. Formerly, I was a product manager for seven years at a now profitable software startup. I lead teams, design products, develop web and mobile apps and help business development and marketing.

I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering (previously worked as an aerospace engineer) and am halfway through a master's program in human-computer interaction.

I'm a capable jack of all trades engineer, designer, marketer, leader, strategist and product thinker focused on adding value to others' lives.

I need someone who is likeminded and capable of also developing software but will likely be stronger in business development and marketing.

Work Experience

Product Manager

SweetLabs, Inc.

December 2011 - August 2018

Product lead for the SweetLabs Pokki hosted app platform (Windows and Web) that has generated $60M+ in revenue and grown to 60M+ users worldwide enabling SweetLabs to attain partnerships with the world’s top mobile and PC device manufacturers (Lenovo, Huawei, Acer, HP, and Toshiba). Launched the SweetLabs’s App Install Platform, spearheading Android by managing new mobile team building a secure, localized, preloaded system level monetization app for a major multi-national OEM. Owned product monetization of a patented platform technology I aided development of and used to generate over $150,000 in revenue in its first quarter with continued growth as Windows’s first app store. Optimized the SweetLabs’s Pokki platform app store content strategy by defining key performance indicators that drove testing for feature releases that increased stagnant user engagement by 20%. Prototyped a VR keyboard with 6-DOF, hand tracking and scale 3D model to enable keyboard input in VR for research in VR productivity and developing SweetLabs’s VR product strategy with key partners.
