Hi, what do you think about service where buyer creates request for specific products and app sends this requests to all of the suppliers in database. Suppliers send offers back and buyer choose best offer.
It turns around process where supplier does cold calls or ads to find new buyers. Buyer at same time saves time by sending requests one request to suppliers, rather than sending multiple requests to suppliers found on web.
What do you think?
This kind of bidding marketplace has existed for a long time, but was most popular when there was no internet. Now that buyers have access to thousands of companies they would never have been able to find before, this kind of marketplace has become mostly irrelevant, as suppliers no longer need to go to the marketplace to be found.
Market places like CustomMade.com and Amazon offer similar networks. Can I ask you what experience or circumstance caused you to explore this idea? Are you looking for something to pursue or was there something you feel you recognized as an opportunity?
My friend works in ad print company and they need to look for paper very often. So we came up to this idea where suppliers would suggest prices to retailers.
I already tried narrowing down the market and tried to implement this kind of platform for restaurants and food suppliers. Walked few restaurants door to door with questions and sent dozens of only surveys, but no luck. Here is landing page we made https://fierce-beach-25021.herokuapp.com/.
So, we didn't tested other industries and idea left hanging. Now i decide to ask around about it.
