Couple of options:

1. Go to and filter on digital agencies that do web development and mobile in the Washington DC area, and reach out to them directly.

2. Shoot me an email at w/ your high-level requirements, timeline, and budget, and I can forward your info along to our dev partners (some in the DC area, some not).

You're asking for a referral, not a discussion. The right question would be "How do I evaluate if a web development company is a match for my needs?" or "What should I look for when evaluating an app developer?" or "What are the consequences of choosing between an app or mobile web?"

I will answer the last of those three because it's the most important. In general, you should not expect a web developer to also be an app developer. They are almost completely different skills. If you choose an app over mobile web, you will need to multiply the cost of development by the number of devices and operating systems you want your app to function on, plus support it going forward with update after update. It must be worth it to the user to install. Whereas a mobile web tool is much less expensive, works across all platforms from the start, and doesn't require a commitment to download, even though you can still create a shortcut icon on the mobile device screen to use it. Proper app development could easily cost you 3 to 20 times more than mobile web depending on the customers you intend to support.

Location of your developer is irrelevant unless you're the kind of person who must have face to face meetings.

@Ben: I had a company in my mind but unfortunately i forgot that name and all i remembered before posting this question here was the location of the company so before that i did google for that but couldn't find that. So i thought i will get that name here. And now found that company here!

Hi George,

Just a quick word of advice...

If you are just starting out and are in MVP stage, and unless you have huge investment upfront for scalability and you product is already tested, i would not go straight to the "big company" to build it, i would go for for some freelancer first to build a primary version of the product and start it out like that. Then when it takes off, invest big in scalable way expanding the thing.

Hope that helps.
