I had a friend from university who was a journalist for a few years and I remember that about four years ago he was covering Bitcoin startups fairly regularly. I don’t keep in touch with this friend much anymore but I do know that he doesn’t write about Bitcoin startups anymore, nor do many others, it seems. Whereas Bitcoin startups were all the rage about five years ago, you hear hardly a whimper these days. Which strikes me as odd because I know Bitcoin is still alive and well. Bitcoin folks on CoFoundersLab: What happened after the initial spurt of Bitcoin entrepreneurial enthusiasm? Too many players in an immature market that, because of its diminutive size, tossed out the young and unready that might survive in larger markets?
