How much marketing budget do you have? It's incredibly difficult to get organic growth in the very beginning (once you have a following and establish word of mouth it becomes much easier).

You really need to have some sort of paid strategy in place. Even if it's small. I've had campaigns bring in downloads for $0.50-$1 each. I would put a couple $100 into ad spend each month and gradually grow the user base. Once you've done that for a few months, you can use tools like "Facebook Audience Insights" to look at the demographic data of the people who have downloaded the app.

Once you have that data, you can think of influencers, communities, etc that you can work with to find ideal customers. Until you have data on people who actually download, it's very difficult to get any kind of organic growth.

That's if the app is free. If there is already a revenue model in place, you can scale your paid efforts and work on referral campaigns.
