Just wrote this article with the intention to help anyone attempting to launch a mobile app. Some good info on incorporating and the app making process.

Hi Jason,

Nice article though. I always like to read something that uncover the development process and pitfals. In the middle I was thinking that it's another foursquare and I thought why this guys was wasting his time, but then I realized that we're on the same plate and felt that we really have much in common with only difference that I'm in game development.

Please write more about marketing because this is a really HUGE part of building the app.

Nice write up. I have been working on a mobile app design for two years. Currently looking for a developer/co-founder. Would love to hear any additional advice you have.

Hey Jason,

That's an incredible app. When are you planning to expand the app in Asia? There is a burgeoning market in South-East Asia too. 70% apps get most of their traction in these markets. Also, if you're still planning your marketing, I'll suggest you to target colleges and universities in Bay Area initially. The culture in here provocates every person to get social and that's what Blip wants.

Secondly,  I have been working with a few Appreneurs who have their app ideas at a very  incipient stage. I'll be definitely sharing your link with them. A very cogent written blog.

Yes, Jason, I second Paul. I am wondering if you will share the name of your marketer?

I expect to launch my educational game (app) in Nov/Dec. I have been searching for a person who really understands social media marketing who can supplement and improve on what I am doing for a reasonable price. I contacted dozens of people but either they want far more money that I can spend with no guarantee they can really help or they want to focus on some small aspect and don't seem savvy about current social media marketing.

Hey Jason, Thanks for sharing. Would you mind sharing how much you spent in total cash? Equity? The only figure I saw was the $175 for design work. Would love to know how cheaply an app of this quality can/cannot be done :) Cheers, Michael

Thanks for the feedback. I will definitely be writing updates on our progress, specifically the marketing stuff.

We bootstrapped the whole project, and really only brought on people that believed in what we were doing. Our only expenditures were the $175, $99 dev account, $50 registered agent fee, $30 in domains, and the $89 Delaware incorporation fee - Of course our time as well :)

In case you want more info, feel free to send me an email. The address is listed at the bottom of the article.
