Online Ads revenue estimates

I have 2 websites that getting ~1000 unique visitors per day. There are no ads right now. Does anyone know what can be earned in ad revenue from this traffic? Does it worth the time and effort considering current # of visitors?

Yes, this is the digital world where numbers are numbers -- but there's also the "quality" of the visitors.  Why they came, how long they stay, how focused they are on the topic (or are there multiple topics?) as others have alluded to.  I bring this up because you also have the option of monetizing by displaying CPA (cost-per-acquisition) offers on your own.  If your visitors are all interested in a topic that matches up with a product you see on ClickBank, JVzoo, DigiResults, MaxBounty, et al, you may be able to exceed AdSense income.  Good luck.

The content of the website and the nature of the visitors has a lot to do with it. I'm sure a popular LED TV review site will earn far more through online ads than an equally trafficked board game review site.

Igor, This model might help you estimate. It might be better to think in terms of page views and the hits you get per page view. For example 0.22 pence per add click and a 2% click through rate on the page views would give you an estimate of the revenue. I have had a bit of a look and the reality is that you need a lot of traffic to make money off google ads. It gets better once you have a lot of traffic because you can take direct advertising. Advertisers will only talk to you once you have a decent volume of targeted traffic. Kevin

I have a little site called Pawnshopper.Com. 

We get about 12k to 15k per month in hits. 

We plugged in Google Ads and we get about $600 to $650 per month without touching a thing.

There are several ways to monetize that traffic, ads being one of them. This is a good opportunity for building your sales funnel and to try some experiments. It is possible that your 1000 visitors a day translates into $20/ day. That assumes a great many things. But if you don't have a method of tracking your experiments, you will not be able to improve your revenue. If the 1000 visitors a day are all paying attention to the same topic, and they convert at a high rate, then you have something that many people would be willing to buy from you.

The better question is how often do they come to your site within a month. Online ad revenue is based on impressions (i.e user views). Also what type of system do you have? Web or mobile app? What type of product is it as the content makes the CPM's (cost per thousand views) vary greatly. UGC or gaming is generally much lower than curated content.

You can assume click through rate on ads to be about .1%, so that is 1 click a day (so maybe a buck). So, not a ton. If you have a super great website and can sell ads directly, you might get $3.50 CPM, (so $10.50 a day)... Agree with Paul, a lot of the potential value comes from the quality and focus of your traffic.

If you have an audience with high monetization potential, you could look at CPM's north of $100.

If it's a generic audience that sees the ads as an interruption, value could be south of $1.  If you have groupon's audience it may be (theoretically) south of $0 for most merchants.
