How to find Brand Ambassadors in other countries?

We are looking for Brand Ambassadors (such as Students, recent grads, part timers, etc.), not customers.

We have had decent success reaching people in North America through Craigslist, Internship websites, BackPages, etc.

But international is a different beast and our current efforts have zero results.

Does anyone have good tips or tricks for engaging a population in countries like: Japan, Spain, Argentina, Italy, Brazil.

Our first choice would be English speakers in those countries.

The best brand ambassadors come from your community. If you can find even one person in your community in those countries they are the best leads because they are already believers.

I was just reading ikeahakers.net which is a fan site for IKEA + people who like to put their own spin on it. You might look at that for some perspective on fansites and the tricky bits there. Plenty of bloggers have multiple blogs so casting about for bloggers in your space who might like to have a special relationship with you would be worth some trouble. my .$02

See if there are any expat sites in the country you are looking to work in. For example, Glocals is extremely popular for anglophones in Switzerland. Many universities also allow you to post jobs for their students.
