Is there anyone here who runs a music related software platform.
How to deal with the copyright of the music file which is actually produced by music studio production houses. In some of the cases Artist themselves pay for the track, composition they have recorded and pay the amount to the production houses for the track but they also need to release and advertise , so artist do it through the production house.
Considering all this how can I use their content in my platform?
What if I just use the Video embedding through You Tube, Will I be still liable to pay for the copyright?
Is there anyway to directly invite the music production houses to make a channel just like we have on you tube and they can get the royalty for the views or so, How does this business model works?
My project is still at idea stage and I have spoken to the couple of Android developers, I am in doubt, how to proceed with it, because there is lot of variation when it comes to the budget part.
You need to deal with the agents. They are your access to what you need. CAA and WME represent 90% of the worlds A-list artists.
I'm not entirely certain how it works in the whole world, but in the USA, there are only two licensing organizations that control all of music licensing. If you deal with those two, you have covered all your concerns. As for self-represented artists, you will need a process of dealing with each of them individually, but it's also likely that you won't deal with them at all.
Frankly, if you don't know this basic information already, I wonder if this is the right business for you. Any amount of Google searching would have at least directed you to ASCAP and BMG and all the legal discussion about music rights.
You would also have found easy-to-understand articles like this one describing how Spotify licenses music.
What are you trying to actually build?
