How to collect resources of an NGO?

I am in the process of starting up an NGO and I noticed that part of the process is that it needs to be registered to an address. As a start up how does one get funding let alone a building of which the processes of the organisation can be transferred.

Since this is difficult, I was thinking I start off as an activist that way maybe I can get enough attention to become an official organisation?

Hi Thobeka. Not only does it have to be registered to an address but also you need a board of directors. The number will depend on the state in which you live.

Generally, initial funding will be from friends, relatives, and the supporters you already have. So, starting out as an activist will allow you start building you list of supporters. It is also less expensive.

Hey there @Thobeka, as a start up NGO sometimes you may not have your own building. But that's okay. You can use your home address. Most start up NGO founders use their own home address as their business address until they can own a physical location. Hope this helps!

Of cource you can rent a Visual Office which saves you the inconveniences and most importantly, money as a new startup. You will have a physical address you can use in registering your company and also get opportunity to book appointments with your clients. Contact me if you are interested.
