Right now, our "team" is mainly just the two of us (Samantha, my co-founder, and I) at our company, and we're in different states. I'm in Boston. Sam is in New York / New Jersey (she goes back and forth). We've made it work just fine. Communication is the hardest to get right, but what we do is we stay connected using Slack and use Google Hangouts for important face-to-face time. The other important thing is keeping track what each other is working on without being a distraction and we use a project management tool for this. We also have a Georgia Tech Ph.D. student helping us with our AI and, of course, he's in Georgia, so we also do the same with him. I gotta admit it's hard to get right, though.
