The answer is "it depends." As often as you can without making yourself a burden. And anywhere you want to be doing business. Those are vague answers because they really can only be answered by you in specific. It's impossible to guess what level of support you need, what your working style is, how you incentivize your advisors to be helpful or what you do for them in return for their support (what matters to them). Your communication style will have a lot to do with how willing those folks are to respond to you. And the more you can help them, the more they will be the ones initiating contact.
