I have a close friend who has been in the franchising business as a broker for many years. She had me do a self assessment that she has, which identifies the amount of hands on you want to do, risk aversion, capital available etc... and helps identify the types of franchises you should consider. She also works with a group for mentoring women in business. She is in AZ but her son and grandson are out in Dallas I think. Bottom line, if you are thinking about franchises, talk to her. She is super straight shooter, and has the pulse on which franchises are doing well, and which ones are all hype. She can probably give you some ideas on valuation as well, or at least suggest things to consider in your model for the pricing.
