A dropshipping catalogue/platform for retailers and small time ecommerce stores to discover and order products from established and emerging brands. The retailers and ecom stores would subscribe to access database of new products from their chosen categories and can place orders for products from suppliers without MOQ.


If not, what do you think of the idea in terms of need and financial viability?

There's no less than 10 or 12 solutions on the market that perform these duties.

These solutions range from SMB all the way up to a large enterprise solution (like Demandware / Netsuite / Oracle cloud commerce). The smaller to mid-players are all geared towards the Amazon / eBay market while the larger players are far more geared towards an Omnichannel effort that has a retail presence. Most of the SMB and mid players are also focused on Shopify or Magento as integrations...


As someone that's made my career building these types of systems or software that supports these systems, I can tell you that not only is this a complicated domain to work in, it's extremely competitive and not very profitable unless you're building a 6 figure product.
