Does anyone know of an insurance provider for rental marketplaces? The only one I've seen is Safe Share.

Trying to develop a property rental marketplace and I need to get in touch with insurers who would be willing to take on suitable policies. Thus far I have only come across Safe Share.

The problems with gaining support (i.e. the use of capital with which to provide the product) for any new insurance product are (a) giving a clear explanation of what the risk to be insured is; (b) showing how the risk can reliably be underwritten; (c) showing that the potential for loss is manageable; and (d) showing that there is a big enough potential market for the product to make a profit. It's the same for any new line, but a new concept such as this will be even harder for established insurance markets to understand, so the business case has to be all the more convincing. SafeShare have obviously done their own analysis: if they appear to be making a go of it and others want in, it's then a question of matching the capacity (the money) with the technical expertise of underwriting,, policy design etc.
