Anyone used a good free SMS service that can be used in a MVP for testing?

All,

We wanted to test some consumer behavior for an experiment over mobile by sharing an invitation only opt-in mobile web page for some MVP testing.  Are there any free SMS services out there that you may have used that offer an API to send out text messages?  We are looking for something really simple.

Google search comes up with many and its hard to know the good and the bad ones.

Twilio's the biggest. Not free, but cheap ($0.0075 per text message, IIRC) and easy to customize.

I agree with several of the comments above.  We've used Twilio in the past (in conjunction with Parse.com), which work extremely well.

Use twilio.  The trial accounts are free, and the paid accounts are not a lot of investment for an MVP if you want a cleaner message.

Twilio is by far the best option. It won't cost you much for a while until you get to greater volumes. Sent from my iPhone
