Anyone know of a good all in one project management software?

I'm looking for an all in one project management software that doesn't cost a fortune.  Something that does project management, task management and assignment, time card management for remote employees.  I have tried several and they have a few of the options I need but I find I have to use several software solutions to get what I need and this is very confusing for my employees.

It highly depends on your approach to project management.
Are you on Agile then I recommend Attlassian
Are you on waterfall then use Project Libre
Are you on feature base, then use Jama

The first decision is about which approach to project management you use, then worry about the tool.

We use Asana.  It is free for under 15 people (per team) and it is pretty powerful. We love it and use it as for CRM, project management, and (simple) appointment tracking.

It is irresponsible to recommend any software w/o knowing the outcome(s) you wish to achieve. 

I'll assume you have done that and as you say are just 'looking.' Remember, a lot of very poor decisions and selection of apps and tools are done for dumb reasons like politics, features, functions, personal preferences, roles, etc. Beware. 

Now, since you are just 'looking' then have a look at Basecamp. Basecamp is "everyone's favorite"  w/>5M users.

Hi Anna,

I've been down this road before so I can relate a bit. You mentioned you tried many, then you probably already know that most allow thirty day free trials which is plenty of time to go through the features (even the ones listed in this discussion).

I would like to recommend  

I've used tools like Basecamp, Wrike, Smartsheet, and others however I prefer Teamwork; to me it's like Basecamp but a bit more sophisticated.  It has a great gantt chart for tasks (my fav tool), and includes time tracking as well as billable hours.

I second Andrew's recommendation. Having tried virtually all the other recommended options on this list, Teamwork is the one that finally stuck as the go to project management software.

Hi Anna, 

As in all software solutions and specially in Projects (Groupware) Management, the key requirements will be in the modules or Sub-Applications. Besides you need to expand on the Platform.

Are you keen on a Cloud based SaaS service ? (Hosted)
Are you more thinking of an office environment ? (Windows / Mac / Linux)

There are several Open Source Solutions available (For Free) and maybe you can manage to have one of your colleagues to test drive a few on a web server
and see where you would land.
