Micros is a multibillion dollar firm. They do hospitality and point of sale software, and have a very expensive, but proven system that is used the world over. They got bought by Oracle, and as usual when Oracle buys something, it gets buried in the monster that is Oracle.
To be allowed to hook up to their system, you have to go through a certification process, which costs about $3000 last time I checked. You do not need to pay $20k to become a partner. A partner is a company that is co-marketed. You probably don't need that. Anyway, we had an engineer who reverse engineered the protocol, and hooked up Asterisk open source phone system to it, but he died of a heart attack sadly, and the VB6 code was incomplete, and the knowledge of how it worked died with him. Micros is not that complex of a system; it is extremely old, and basically uses serial protocols carried over IP.
Hi
I am too looking for similar integration. Although its very old post but still wanted to know @John Duffield that were you able to find any solution for this ? If yes, can you please share how you did it ?
Hi Aditya KukarAditya Kukar Cofounder, I am replying to your post of August 2018. I am also integrating, I am working for a company that is integrating its payment solution, with Micros Simphony Oracle.
Oracle provided to us a machine in which we have windows, and inside it runs the SIMPHONY Client 2.0 (2468) and we have a standard installation, we make orders using this machine (you login with the employee Object number, and you make an order of food/beverage).
Than my program uses the Transaction Service, that are available and setted up, so they returns to me a SOAP xml tat I have to parse (I've autogenerated the Java source code using a tool) and then I've modified this classes, I've build the agent. It took me several months. Communication with Oracle was very very bad, they don't reply, they are very uncommunicative.
For other questions I am here !
I would like to know if anyone found a solution for this request?
I am looking for a company or Coder who is capable of integrating between Oracle Micros 3700 (and Simphony POS) with an EFTPOS (Bank Payment terminal Terminal)
Hello did anyone find a viable solution for this? I am interested in integrating with Micros and Aloha for my new SaaS.
I am looking to connect to the backend of systems like Micros or Aloha - for analytics purposes - not front-end POS as no need for immediacy - anyone got any experience of how to do this? Thanks in advance.
