Ad Revenue sites - get more traffic

I have a couple of ad revenue sites that I want to get more traffic and visibility to. The site's themselves do alright without really marketing them as they have been up for many years and have some good organic traffic going to them That being said I wondered if anyone has had experience with marketing these sites cheaply to generate more traffic and more revenue.

Hey Kevin the sites I have are,,, I inherited these from a client who's check bounced and then he refused to pay so I retained ownership of the domains and the intellectual property as per my contracts anything I build I keep the rights to until paid. The sites are directory listings for dental offices, suppliers, and wholesalers. I scrape about 15 different sites daily to update these sites with new listings per state. 

They don't get a ton of traffice about 100 visitor's a day and I don't market them. They have been making 10.00 per month in ad revenue. To be honest here I was not looking to do to much with them but they are seeing increased traffic since I have had them up for almost 4 years now and all the traffic is organic since I don't market them. 

Given the increased traffic I figured I would see how I could get more traffic to them and see if they can make more money in ad revenue with little to no maintenance on them since things are pretty much automated. Traffic to them is about 300 user's a month where 85% are unique visitors. I honestly don't want to spend a ton of money on something that is not making a ton of money but thought I would see what ideas people had in regards to getting more traffic to them cheaply.

Depending on what cheaply means.   Depending on your budget, one option is to bid for keywords on twitter/fb/google.  Twitter has paid/promoted tweets now.

Hi Travis,  As others mentioned, it will depend pretty significantly on the subject area, traffic, and revenue metrics.  SEO efforts, advertising (SEM/PPC, Display), and Affiliate traffic sources are all possibilities (as well as some Social impacts), but which ones apply depends on the site.  It's also possible that there may be some monetization strategies beyond ad revenue that could make sense, again depending on the site.

I'd be happy to talk with you more about it and give you some ideas or point you to some other folks that might help if it ends up being appropriate.

Depends on what the context of the sites are too and whether or not they have social integration, email potential, etc. Also to Praveen's point, what RPV are you seeing? is there margin to buy traffic? etc
